Winter has finally come to Perth and we have been experiencing rather a lot of much needed rain. While this is great for the garden, our farmers and our water supply it is not so great when you live with two active young boys.
As a result these gumboots have been getting a lot of use lately as we have taken a few strolls around our neighbourhood, splashing in puddles, dodging showers and collecting rain sodden leaves and treasures to add to our winter nature table.
Have you been stuck indoors this week? What have you been playing to keep your little ones entertained? “Come over and play at the Childhood 101 We Play link up”

What lovely photos! Kids are drawn to puddles, aren't they? It's so nice to be one step ahead of them and have them wearing appropriate clothing and footwear so they can go nuts without stressing us out!
ReplyDeleteWe've been indoors a bit too, and have been doing cotton-bud painting, buttons sorting, learning how to kick balls (2yo) and jumping in and out of hoops and going through tunnels. In the bath we have been creating bubble mountains in cups, come and see the pics if you like!
My boy loves his gumboots too. This week he has been asking to wear them to bed!! (So far Mummy is winning that battle, but we'll see...)
ReplyDeleteEveryone in our house got a new pair of gumboots in our house last week:) Pink with white stars for Princess, bright blue for Mumma, and boring black for Dadda. I can't remember when I last had gumboots before this ...
ReplyDeleteNo puddle jumping for us yet, just some hard work and worm liberation :)
Gum boots are a must-have in our house too. Don't you just love the look of delight when your child spots a big, deep puddle in the distance. Well worth the wet pants and soggy socks ...
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful! You've reminded me I need to invest in some raingear for my brood
ReplyDeleteGreat photos. Love those gumboots :)
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite childhood memories is walking in puddles of water after a rain. Maybe I should try this as an adult! Thanks for your post, I am digging the frog rain boots. :)
ReplyDeleteGumboots are the best! And puddles are for splashing in. Lovely pics.
ReplyDeleteLove gumboots
ReplyDeleteNice post! Wish we had some nice gentle rain to go play in...when it rains here, it is usually coupled with thunder and lightening and a total tropical downpour.
ReplyDeleteMy boys have the same froggy boots, though...they used to get lots of wear when we lived in Virginia...now that we live in Florida, they put them on when they want to help Daddy in the yard to avoid stepping on snakes.
I popped by via the link ups at We Play - Childhood 101...Hope that you will pop by my blog too.

My son would love to live someplace that got enough rain to necessitate boots! Jealous of your fun pictures!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful fun, we love puddles and our gumboots too.
