Water Painting

After a family holiday away last week this week has been a bit hectic catching up with washing, cleaning and getting back into the school routine. Art activities have been a little basic this week so on a sunny winters morning we opted for a spot of water painting.
We usually paint with water on the back fence but this week we have been using the chalk board instead - sometimes with chalk but mostly just water on its own. What simple activities do you rely on to entertain your little ones on those days you just don't have time to set up much? “Come over and play at the Childhood 101We Play link up”

  1. Water painting is the best summer activity. It's easy, cool, and open-ended! We did something similar last month! I like that you used the black chalkboard. Great variation!

  2. We're gonna try some water painting too - either on the driveway or wall or something - I think it'll be great fun! Thanks so much for linking up to It's Playtime this week!

  3. We love this, too. In fact, as I wrote about it the other day, I set up something for my 4 yo DD and showed how to paint the walls to my toddler. 4 yo couldn't care less and preferred water painting :)

  4. Nothing like the good old favorites! They aren't the good old favorites for nothing :)
